Worth a Bob (or Two?)

Bob, the company mascot for Cartridge World, is hoping to improve on his predecessor’s performance in the Mascot Gold Cup this weekend. Contested at Wetherby race course on Sunday 17th April, over a furlong and five fences, the race is an annual fundraiser for national charity, Sue Ryder.

This year’s event has a field of 55 with other local competition coming from Stockeld Park’s ‘Stanley the Stag’, Engage’s ‘Sid the Super Saving Pig’ and Yorkshire Cancer Research’s ‘Giant Clanger’.

“Forget the Grand National, this is the big race,” says Lucie Ward, Cartridge World’s Marketing Communications Manager. “Bob’s been training hard and, despite his rather rotund shape, watching his diet. Cartridge World’s standards are high and he knows that, so we’re sure he won’t let us, or our reputation down. Our only worry is that he has a bad fall at the first and we have to recycle him for next year’s event.”

Cartridge World is the market-leading retailer of refilled and remanufactured printer cartridges. Using specifically formulated inks or toners, the Cartridge World stores can refill or remanufacture all major brands of inkjet and laser cartridge. The end result is a high quality product offering the customer substantial savings on the cost of an original and an environmentally friendly alternative to throwing the cartridge into landfill.

Sue Ryder provides expert and compassionate support for people living through life changing illness. Nationally it provides 4 million hours of care across the UK. Services include palliative, home and long-term care for people living with cancer, multiple sclerosis, Huntington’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, strokes and brain injury. Over the past five years the Mascot Gold Cup has raised over £75,000 for the charity.
