Cartridge World Stockport Now Open

Residents and businesses across the Stockport area will now easily be able to improve their environmental credentials, while saving money, thanks to the arrival of a brand new Cartridge World store which opened in the town on 26th April 2011.

The Stockport store, on Wellington Road South, is being launched as a franchise operation by local businessman Alan Gallagher. Alan made the decision to launch his own business following 23 years working for blue chip organisations such as Mars Group and ABB.

Using specifically formulated inks or toners, Cartridge World stores can refill or remanufacture all major brands of inkjet and laser cartridge, offering customers substantial savings on the cost of an original and an environmentally friendly alternative to throwing the cartridge into landfill - where it can take each up to 1000 years to decompose.

Alan said: “This is an extremely exciting venture for me and I really believe there is an excellent opportunity for Cartridge World within Stockport. In fact, such is my ambition for the area, I’d ultimately like to look at further stores within the Cheadle and SK6 areas within the next couple of years. For now though, I’m concentrating on getting Wellington Road up and running and making it a success.

“I was staggered to learn that over 45 million cartridges go into UK landfill sites each year. Looking at this against the population, this means that potentially more than 200,000 end up in sites within the Stockport area. It is a needless strain on our local environment, when refills offer such an easy – and cost effective – alternative.

“The store is opening within the conservation areas of St George’s, and the building dates from 1883, which I think is very fitting for a business looking to help residents and businesses improve their local environment.”

Added Alan: “I’m very excited to be bringing the new store to Stockport, helping everyone in the local community to save money on their printer cartridges. We will also have a fully liveried vehicle to provide deliveries to businesses and we’re very keen to speak to local schools and charitable organisations about our unique Recycle-It scheme where empty cartridges collected equal a cash donation.”
