Downgrade Your Firmware - Start Printing Again!

Before trying to change your printer firmware it is important to prepare your printer so it is setup to process the firmware downgrade.

You need to switch on 'Allow Downgrades' and switch off 'Check and Allow Automatic Updates'

Follow this video for guidance on how to do both.

Next Steps

IMPORTANT - You must connect your printer directly to your PC / Laptop using a USB cable. If you try and complete the downgrade via WI-FI or ethernet cable the downgrade will not work.

Once you have the printer connected via a USB cable check your printer’s firmware version from the user menu on the printer’s display.

• If the installed firmware version is 20201021, you must downgrade the firmware.
• If the installed firmware version 20200612 or older (first 4 digits identify the year, If it is 2019, for example, then it is older), you don’t need to downgrade the firmware, you just need to deactivate the automatic updates from the printer’s user menu.

Depending on your printer model click the relevant link from the printer list above to download the respective downgrade firmware.

Once downloaded, click to open and install. The printer will automatically restart after the downgrade has finished.

That's it, you should now have working compatible cartridges!
