Top printer brand buying notes
These short guides help customers understand the most common cartridge choices by brand.
HP ink and toner
HP printers cover everything from DeskJet and ENVY home inkjets to LaserJet business printers. Check whether your printer uses ink or toner before ordering.
- Popular ink ranges include HP 301, 302, 303, 304, 305 and 912.
- Popular toner ranges include HP 44A, 59A, 85A, 201A and 410A.

Epson ink cartridges
Epson is popular for home photo printing, Expression Home printers, WorkForce office printers and ink tank systems.
- Check your printer model carefully as Epson cartridge series can look similar.
- XL cartridges can offer better value for regular printing.
- Multipacks are useful if you print colour regularly.
Canon PIXMA and i-SENSYS
Canon printers often use separate black and colour ink tanks for PIXMA models, while Canon laser printers use toner cartridges.
- Popular ink ranges include PG, CL, PGI and CLI cartridges.
- Some Canon printers can show low-ink warnings after cartridge replacement.
- Canon laser printers generally use toner rather than liquid ink.
Brother ink, toner and drums
Brother is common in both home inkjet printers and office laser printers. Many Brother laser printers use separate toner and drum units.
- Check whether you need toner, a drum unit, or both.
- Some Brother models require toner or drum counters to be reset.
- High-yield cartridges are useful for regular office printing.
Lexmark toner cartridges
Lexmark laser printers are often used in offices and business environments, where yield, reliability and correct printer matching are especially important.
- Always match the toner code and printer series.
- Some Lexmark printers use return-program and non-return cartridges.
- Contact us if you are unsure which version you need.
Business laser printer brands
We also support a wide range of workplace laser printer brands used by businesses, schools, offices and public sector customers.
- Samsung toner cartridges are now commonly linked with HP support and recycling.
- Xerox, Ricoh, Kyocera and Sharp printers often need exact model matching.
- Contact us if your brand or model is not easy to find.
How to find the correct cartridge
The fastest way to avoid ordering the wrong item is to check either your printer model or the cartridge code printed on your current cartridge.
Search by printer model
Look for the printer model on the front, top or back of the printer. Examples might include HP DeskJet 2710e, Epson XP-3100, Canon PIXMA TS3350 or Brother HL-L2350DW.
- Include any letters at the end of the model number.
- Check whether the printer is inkjet or laser.
- Be careful with very similar printer names.
Search by cartridge code
If you still have the old cartridge, look for the cartridge number on the label. This is often the most reliable way to find the right replacement.
- Ink examples: HP 305, Canon PG-545, Epson 603.
- Toner examples: Brother TN247, HP 59A, Samsung MLT-D111S.
- XL or high-yield versions may print more pages.
